Many strong earthquakes have occurred globally and caused many casualties and damages on the infrastructures and lifeline facilities. Learning from these disasters, a lot of advances in science and technology have been developed to provide a safer living environment for humanity. This conference aims to provide an opportunity to share the most recent findings related to earthquake engineering. It will highlight research in engineering field to the disaster mitigation policy. It is hoped that this conference will be fruitful to disseminate these technologies to safeguard against earthquake hazard and to promote risk reduction efforts worldwide.

The 4th ICEEDM is organised by Andalas University, Institut Teknologi Bandung, and AARGI.

AARGI (Asosiasi Ahli Rekayasa Gempa Indonesia) or The Indonesian Earthquake Engineering Association (IEEA) was founded in 1984 and has been a member of IAEE ever since. The vision of IEEA is to actively promote and participate in Disaster Risk Reduction in Indonesia, and its missions are (i) to share and disseminate knowledge, research findings, and advances in earthquake engineering technology for disaster risk reduction in Indonesia, and (ii) to transfer the aspiration related to earthquake engineering to the stakeholders.  Consisted of researchers, professionals, government officers, etc., who are concerned with earthquake engineering in Indonesia, IEEA has been working together with the Indonesian government in various activities related to earthquake mitigation. Updated Seismic Hazard Map, Updated Building Codes, Ina-TEWS , Strong Motion Accelerograph Network, and Building Fragility and Fatality Models are some of the IEEA contributions.
